Skin Rejuvenation – The Layering or 3D Approach

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the different technologies for skin rejuvenation, so today Dr David Main tells us the rejuvenation options available at Skin Resus, and how they work to improve your skin.

Skin rejuvenation can be thought of in terms of the level or layer in the skin where your issue is and selecting the right technology that reaches that layer. Combining technologies and taking a 3D approach allows us to level up your treatment and deliver fabulous results.

Many of the problems we see such as sun-related pigmentation and fine lines or wrinkles are concentrated on the skin surface – this is where mainly surface acting treatments such as IPL or Fraxel 1927 laser are best.

Deeper problems in the skin such as broken capillaries or redness are also targeted by the IPL, but treatment needs to be stronger to penetrate into the lower layers to effectively treat the issue.

Deep wrinkling and scarring affect the lower layer – the dermis. The Fraxel 1550 and the Erbium ablative laser are stronger and work to this lowest layer and therefore our technology of choice when treating these conditions.

Finally, the tightness of our skin is affected by the subcutaneous collagen tissues. To tighten this we target these underlying structures using the UltracelQ+ and Platelet Rich Plasma or Fibrin.

At Skin Resus we love building up rejuvenation effects by adding treatments at different layers. One of our favourite treatments is Fraxel 1927 added with IPL – this gives amazing surface rejuvenation whilst also boosting dermal collagen, leaving you with fantastic results.
