What is a Fibrolift?

A Fibrolift is a wildly popular non-invasive, skin lifting, tightening and rejuvenation device primarily used to treat wrinkles, and sagging, crepey skin.

Our trained staff use a Plasma Pen (not the same as the micropen) that converts electrical energy to electrostatic energy to create nitrogen; when placed 1mm from the skin, the nitrogen is mixed with oxygen to produce an arc of plasma which discharges onto the skin. This causes a micro-trauma to the skin’s epidermis (top layers) whilst simultaneously disrupting the dermis (deeper layers) via thermal conduction. This treatment is also known as fibroblasting, giving the name Fibrolift. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen.

This micro-trauma immediately stimulates the healing process, growing new cells and increasing the production of collagen in the area, in turn plumping, tightening and lifting the skin dramatically. In cases of mild to moderate skin laxity, a Fibrolift treatment can potentially be an alternative to cosmetic lifting surgery.

What does a Fibrolift treatment feel like?

Whilst non-invasive, Fibrolifts are generally considered low to moderate in terms of discomfort. The area treated and any personal sensitivities will greatly influence how your treatment feels. We apply a numbing cream to reduce as much discomfort as possible.

What is the downtime?

The downtime after a Fibrolift varies greatly depending on the area you have treated. More sensitive areas such as around the eyes can swell for the first day or two before rapidly improving.

Each application of the Plasma Pen will scab over in a very distinctive pattern of small dots. It is imperative that this is allowed to flake off naturally and not picked at as it could delay the healing process. Small scabs or dots will flake off after 6-7 days on the face and 10 – 14 days on the neck or decolletage. Some pinkness and mild swelling may be present for a period after this as well.

We recommend using small amounts of gentle, soothing skincare products during this time and temporarily ceasing any exfoliants including retinol serums.

When will I see the results?

You will notice initial results as the swelling subsides in the first few days. A significant improvement is noticed in 4-6 weeks and full results are achieved at the three month mark.

How long do the results last?

Fibrolift results last for up to three years.
