Cheek enhancement aims to restore fullness to the mid-face area. When done with a subtle hand, something we pride ourselves on at Skin Resus, it is a beautiful and very natural-looking treatment to address facial volume loss and ageing.
What is cheek enhancement treatment?
Before and after cheek enhancement*

The Ageing Face
When we are young, our faces are quite V-shaped, with a fine, defined jaw line and smooth contours, and our cheeks and upper face are full of volume. As we get older, this V begins to invert. Our muscles, fat and even bone is re-distributed, so that the mid-face loses volume, while the lower face gains volume. This volume results in hollowed areas near the eyes and cheeks. Lines between the nose, mouth and chin will also become deeper and more pronounced.
Traditionally, a focus has been solely on targeting the deep lines around the mouth, without addressing any loss of volume. The Skin Resus medical team take a more modern approach to fillers, restoring lost volume as well as treating obvious lines. This ‘cheek enhancement treatment’ helps to restore a more youthful shape, and leaves the face looking pretty and fresh.
What is cheek enhancement treatment like?
Cheek enhancement is a quick and easy process, and usually takes 20-30 minutes. Injections with fine needles provide lift and aim to restore youthful contours. It is these contours that we look at most closely – how can we positively restore appearance? What does the individual require? Our facial shape and structure determine the best approach.
Most people find the injections very tolerable, though local anaesthetic cream prior to treatment can be used if desired.
How much does cheek enhancement cost?
The cost of cheek enhancement depends on the amount of product used. Our practitioners will tailor a package to suit your individual needs, and your budget.
What should I expect after cheek enhancement treatment?
One of the great things about this solution is that results can be seen immediately. Some swelling may be present for a few days, and bruising can occasionally occur. If you are prone to bruising, there’s a few things you can do before your treatment to minimise this. Ask us about it when you book your appointment. Makeup can be applied right away (we’ll be happy to apply it for you) so you can walk out looking and feeling great.
Are there any side effects from cheek enhancement treatment?
Treatment is very safe, but occasional side effects can occur. These include:
- Redness and swelling around the injection site
- Bruising can occur at the injection point and can occasionally be quite marked
- Additional treatment may be needed to achieve the desired result
- Visible lumps can occur, but are very uncommon in cheek treatments.
- Movement or migration of product can very uncommonly occur, and can be readily treated with reversing enzyme.
- Infection is very rare, but is possible with any procedure that pierces the skin
- Other very rare complications can occur. These will be discussed during your consultation.
