As our skin ages we lose volume in the face, we develop laxity or looseness of the skin and subcutaneous tissues, and the once temporary lines of expression become ingrained. Frown lines, deep smile lines at the side of the mouth (naso-labial lines), lines from the mouth to the chin (marionette lines) and the small vertical lines on the upper lip (often called smoker’s lines) develop. The shape and definition of the lips is reduced and dark circles develop under the eyes.

Many of these issues can be addressed and improved with simple and safe solutions.

Our highly experienced doctors and nurses can provide you a tailored plan to address your individual concerns.

Treatment Results - Examples

*Individual results may vary

Adding volume or lifting lines and wrinkles - what is involved?

Treatment usually takes about 20-30 minutes. Small injections with a fine needle are mostly well tolerated, and comfort can be assisted with ice packs or local anaesthetic topical cream prior to treatment. The lift provided by the injections helps correct unwanted lines, wrinkles and folds in the skin, as well as laxity in the cheeks and jawline, and dark circles under the eyes.

When will I see the results?

Results can be seen immediately after treatment, though some swelling and bruising may be present for a few days after. If you are prone to bruising, there’s a few things you can do before your treatment to minimise this, so be sure to ask us about it when you book. In many treatments no work downtime is needed.

Makeup can be applied right away (we’ll be happy to apply it for you) so you can walk out looking and feeling great.

How long do results last?

The substances are broken down and metabolised by the body over time. How long they last depends on the product used and the area treated. Lip augmentation usually lasts about 6 – 12 months, and treatments around the mouth 12 months. Under eye treatment is quite long-lasting, in many cases some years.

Will the Results Look Natural?

Yes. The best results are the ones that only you notice.

What is the cost of treatment?

At Skin Resus, our practitioners tailor treatment to your desired results and budget, so the cost of the treatment is calculated individually. Prices start from $295 which would typically treat fine smokers’ lines. A normal lip treatment would be from $350-$550 and marionette lines or tear trough treatments are most commonly $590. Are there any side effects from treatment?

Treatment of this type very safe, and in 20 years of practice we have seen no dangerous complications. Occasional side effects can occur. These include:

  • Redness and swelling around the injection site
  • Bruising can occur at the injection point and can very occasionally be marked
  • Additional treatment may be needed to achieve the desired result
  • The presence of a visible lump – mostly simply treated with massage or dissolving enzyme treatment.
  • Movement or migration of the product – an infrequent complication, more common with initial over-treatment of an area.
  • Other very rare complications can occur. These will be discussed during your consultation.
